Mad Politics: Keeping Your Sanity in a World Gone Crazy
Purchase options and add-ons
But with the election of Donald Trump, America tried something new. So we have to ask ourselves: what if Trump isn't the crazy man that the media pretends he is? What if he's actually the cure for a country who's been going mad for years?
In Mad Politics, Fox News commentator, radio host, and psychological analyst Dr. Gina Loudon diagnoses the problem with America's status quo politics. Loudon has unique insight into both the Trump campaign and the larger political landscape as a member of the president's 2020 media advisory board, a former surrogate for his campaign, the wife of a former Senator from Missouri, the co-host of a national Television show, a seasoned psychological analyst on FOX News, CNN and others, and a twice pedigreed Master and Ph.D.
With authority and wit, Mad Politics exposes cultural patterns that have led to today's political narcissism. She scans the psychological literature and illuminates a formula to answer the question: How can we restore a sound mind to the body politic? The answer, Loudon concludes, may be in joining Trump in a complete rejection of political correctness.

Great perspective from the inside
Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2018I read it front to back in one day. Her writing style is very readable. Dr. Loudon covers a lot of ground in this book. She talks about her time with the president and also about how she arrived at her beliefs on politics and life. The president's personality profile is very interesting, as is how the AMA is trying to label so many of us crazy. Her personal stories of her upbringing are fascinating and heartbreaking at times. I love how she interweaves her upbringing and her political evolution with today's political events. She is very gracious to her opponents and talks a lot about reaching across the aisle -- which is exactly what we need in today's political craziness. The ending gives me hope that we will get through this though political time and be better than ever. I am going to get more copies to give away as gifts.

So Much Great Analysis!
Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2018Gina has shown us far more about President Trump, how he thinks, what early influences helped to shape him, and why he says and does the things he says and does, than we would ever get from MSM. For one thing, most members of MSM have no understanding of the man, at all, nor do they want to understand him. Only to destroy him. Gina reveals, among other things, that his "arrogance" is really well-earned, greater-than-usual confidence, which he gained early in life, that he really can do what he sets out to do. Read the book; I can't address all of it, here. The first part is a lot of her own background, in order to show how she came to be in the position she now holds.

Expert insights delivered in layman's terms. Exceptional content and delivery. A must read!
Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2018I found this book to be quite interesting and informative. With both sides of the political spectrum competing for attention, it's hard to know who to trust or believe. Dr. Loudon's book offered what I considered expert insights and I appreciated that it was written using laymans terms. I feel that I am better off because I bought this book and aware of things that I wasn't before I read it. I'm sure there will be haters who criticize Dr. Loudon's work (who haven't bought, much less read her work) but I suspect those of us who have purchased (and read it) would be hard pressed not to recommend it. I give it two thumbs up!

Trump successful, not crazy
Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2019This is part motivational psychology and part conservative politics featuring justification for President Trumps actions and tweets. Trump is successful, not crazy. He is extremely consistent, while making a virtue out of unpredictability in his tweets.
Safety is not driving Dem policy regarding Mexico immigrant gangs and Muslim terrorists. Democrats are the most successful hate group. Dems and media call Trump racist, misogynist and anti-Semite, never refuting his arguments.
The Left, compassionate giver of free stuff attacks:
1. electoral college, last vestige of constitutional freedom
2. taxes blue states that are subsidized by red states
3. pot gateway to opium addiction
Laudon should have included Supreme Court reinterpretation of the constitution.
She eschews political correctness, saying that a gun is the greatest equalizer, and our greatest current threat is Islamism.
She claims to be a founding member of the Tea Party, writing nothing on principles and objectives.
California’s experiment in socialism is failing with homelessness, debt, waste of resources, moral bankruptcy and abandonment of rule of law.
Her economics embraces survival of the fittest.
Along with welfare corruption, the ‘advantaged’ in the US have become an object of hatred.
Environmentalists are wasting water to save fish.
Psychologists and government bureaucrats are in thrall to Big Pharma.
Most useful is the preaching of tolerance for her liberal friends, something I need to keep in mind.

Amazing book that is so well written and extremely insightful!
Reviewed in the United States on September 7, 2018Dr Gina has incredible insight into this crazy world of politics! I enjoyed every page. I think this is a great read for anyone from the avid follower of politics to the person who doesn’t follow at all. The only way we as Americans can truly work as one to put “politics “ aside and put our country first it to educate ourselves and make good decisions. In my opinion this is one of those books that can benefit EVERYONE to look at the Trump Era. He is our elected President! Thank you Dr Gina for an incredible read! Looking forward to your next book.

Refreshing perspective on politics today
Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2018I have 8 children spanning a lot of ages and have struggled with ways to discuss some of the challenging subjects that come up in ways that are appropriate (especially school shootings). I found Dr. Gina Loudon's book very helpful for looking at all of this craziness with a new and very helpful perspective. Thank you Dr. Loudon for being willing to put yourself out there and endure all the nastiness they throw at you. My college age children are reading your book as well and I'm hoping it will inspire them to challenge some of their professors who are WAY out there and help them rethink some of the positions they've taken. Keep up the great work !!!

Dr. Gina Is A Patriot We Can Learn From
Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2018We pre-ordered a couple extra copies as gifts. Can’t wait to get them into the hands of family/friends. There has been a movement underway in this great Country to slow down big government and protect our rights. Many, including the media don’t understand that, Gina Loudon not only gets it but believes in it too. Here she helps us see conservative views are not crazy and why. We can’t wait to finish the book. Its looking like a must read for those who believe in God, Country, Family and know its not crazy to believe in those. Get a copy and support a patriot while laughing and learning about where we are today.

I wanted to like this book
Reviewed in the United States on September 14, 2018I'm a big fan of Dr. Louden and was interested in hearing practical ideas about "Keeping Your Sanity in a World Gone Crazy"
Unfortunately, this book is a poorly-written combination of personal biography, American history and political rants - all thrown together in random fashion. Extremely disappointing.
