This Privacy Policy describes how FastCloudWP ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you install the FastCloudWP WordPress plugin (the "Plugin") or use the FastCloudWP hosted service (the "Service"). By installing the Plugin or creating an account, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who we are
FastCloudWP is an independent software product that provides a managed media offloading and CDN delivery service for WordPress websites. Our website is fastcloudwp.com. The Plugin's source code is published openly at github.com/getfastcloud/wordpress.
2. What we collect
2.1 Account information
When you create a FastCloudWP account, we collect your full name, your email address, and a hashed authentication credential (your password is never stored in clear text). We also generate one or more website keys, which you paste into the Plugin to connect your site to your account.
2.2 Site and plugin configuration
The Plugin sends us, for each connected site: the site URL, the WordPress version, the PHP version, the Plugin version, and your selected configuration (for example, whether local copies should be deleted after offloading, or the custom CDN domain you've chosen). This information is used to operate the Service and to provide support.
2.3 Media files
When you offload media, the Plugin uploads your media files to storage we operate on your behalf. We store these files solely to serve them back to your site visitors. We do not inspect the contents of your media beyond what is required to deliver them (for example, computing dimensions or content types).
2.4 Service usage and diagnostics
We log standard service metrics such as request counts, bandwidth used, storage used, response codes, and error traces. These are necessary to run the Service reliably, to bill accurately, and to investigate issues.
2.5 Payment information
If you upgrade to a paid plan, billing is handled by our payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers; we receive only the information needed to operate your subscription (for example, last 4 digits, card brand, billing country).
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect or track your site visitors' personal data through the Plugin.
- We do not read or analyze the contents of your WordPress database.
- We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics scripts in pages the Plugin serves to your visitors.
4. How we use information
- To operate the Plugin and the Service, including storing and delivering your media.
- To provide customer support when you contact us.
- To bill you accurately and prevent fraud.
- To diagnose, fix, and prevent bugs and abuse.
- To send you essential service emails (for example, a billing receipt, a notice about a security update, or a planned maintenance window). We do not send marketing emails without opt-in.
5. Where data is stored
Media files and service data are stored on infrastructure operated by reputable cloud storage and CDN providers. Data may be replicated across multiple regions for durability and low-latency delivery. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all data exchanged between your site, our service, and end visitors, and encryption at rest for stored media.
6. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data. We share information only with the subprocessors required to deliver the Service:
- Cloud storage and CDN providers — to host and deliver your media.
- Payment processor — to process subscription payments.
- Email provider — to send essential transactional emails.
- Google LLC (Google Analytics 4) — to measure website traffic and improve our site. See Section 9 for details.
We may also disclose information if required by law, by a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FastCloudWP, our users, or the public.
7. Data retention
Your media files are retained for as long as your account is active and the Plugin is connected. If you disconnect a site or close your account, we retain associated data for up to 90 days to allow for recovery, then permanently delete it from active systems. Backup copies are purged in line with our backup retention schedule.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time frame.
9. Cookies and tracking
The FastCloudWP website uses two categories of cookies:
9.1 Strictly necessary cookies
For example, to keep you signed in to your account dashboard and to remember your consent preferences. These are required for the site to function and are set without prior consent.
9.2 Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use our website so we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser (typically _ga and _ga_<container-id>) that are read by Google LLC acting as our processor for this data. Where required by law, these cookies are only set after you give consent through our cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time from the same banner control.
We do not use third-party advertising or remarketing cookies, and we do not sell visitor data.
The Plugin itself does not set any cookies on your visitors' browsers.
10. International transfers
FastCloudWP is operated from Canada. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than the country you live in, including the United States (where Google LLC processes Google Analytics data) and other regions where our subprocessors operate. Where applicable, we rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by our subprocessors for these transfers.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security
We apply industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or from the Service. If you discover a vulnerability, please report it responsibly to [email protected].
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Plugin or the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
