Loren Leman is an American politician. A member of the Republican Party, he served as Lieutenant Governor of Alaska, from December 2, 2002 to December 4, 2006. He was the first person of Alaska Native ancestry to be elected to statewide office in Alaska.

Loren’s paternal grandfather was Joseph A. LeMan/Radevonski (the son of Adam Radevonski and Anna Constancia). Joseph was born in Grodno, Russian Empire (present-day Belarus), and was of Polish descent.

Loren’s paternal grandmother was Irene Cooper (the daughter of Joseph M. Cooper and Elizabeth Kvasnikoff). Irene was born in Ninilchik, Alaska. Joseph was born in Missouri, the son of Philip Riley Cooper and Nancy Burk. Elizabeth was the daughter of Feodor Grigorich Kvasnikov and Marie Ioannova Andreev, and was of Alaskan Creole descent, with Russian, Yupik, and Aleut ancestors. Fedor was the son of Grigorii Gerasimitch Kvasnikov, who was born in Kaluga, Russian Empire, and of Mavra Yefimovna Rastorgueva, who was born in Kodiak, Russian America, Russian Empire (present-day Alaska, U.S.), to a Russia-born father and an Alutiiq Yupik mother. Marie was the daughter of Ioann Andreev and Mariia Sergieva Moskvitinov, who was the daughter of a Russian-born father and an Aleut mother.

Loren’s maternal grandfather was Frank Marion Broady (the son of Joseph Celatheal Broady and Mary May Wheeler). Joseph was the son of Joseph Broady and Martha A. Crum. Mary was the daughter of Allen Comstock Wheeler and Nancy Jane Millard.

Loren’s maternal grandmother was Dot Percy Donze (the daughter of Frederick A. Donze and Jennie Duressa Gilbert). Frederick was the son of French parents, Joseph Donze and Catherine Margaret Berlet. Jennie was the daughter of Julius Alonzo Gilbert and Ann Eliza Coryell.
