BERJAYA

Acle is a growing village and key service centre in Norfolk, situated conveniently between Norwich and Great Yarmouth. Popular with tourists visiting the Broads, it also serves as an important hub for the surrounding hinterland, providing shops, services, and community facilities.

Acle Parish Council works to maintain and improve the facilities and services that support daily life in our village.

We look after the play areas at Damgate Lane, Beighton Road (on leased land), and Springfield, as well as both cemeteries on Pyebush Lane. We also own the allotments, manage verge grass cutting for Norfolk County Council, and oversee the maintenance of the public toilets (owned by Broadland District Council). In addition, the Council maintains some streetlights, benches, bins, bus shelters, grit bins, and dog litter bins around the village.

The Council operates the Vehicle Activated Sign (VAS) to monitor speeding and report any issues to the police. We also manage the Beeline, a project that encourages wildflower growth and supports local pollinators such as bees, promoting biodiversity and a healthier environment across Acle.

We help fund Acle Youth Club, run by MAP, and provide grants and support to local clubs and groups.

Through our charity, Acle Borderland Trust, we own and manage the facilities at Folly Tree House, the Brian Grint Centre, and the Fletcher Room – some of which are available for hire by the public.

The Parish Council has 12 volunteer councillors who represent the village on planning matters, respond to local concerns, consult on projects, and manage budgets funded by the precept to help keep Acle safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Acle Parish Council meets on the last Monday of each month (excluding August) at 7pm at the Methodist Church. Members of the public are very welcome and actively encouraged to attend meetings and express their views or concerns on Parish matters.
